History of early polar ice cores

Image

From time to time the US military produce historical works.

Chester Langway[1] in retirement wrote this work to commemorate a 50th anniversary. Published by the US Army Corps of Engineers.

I have put a local copy of the PDF on WordPress servers here (5.7MB).
A non-mil domain copy is here at icedrill.

Can anyone help with information about the “Old Byrd Station[1]” ice core, Antarctica for ongoing work I am doing? Particularly technical details such as ice density profile or data.

This is about cross referencing with recent Taylor Dome data.
